Week 4
Wow, Week 4 has been something else and I don’t know how to describe it truthfully. First off, I got to see Josh Obi from Student Orientation Leader of UC Blue Ash while I was playing soccer on Clifton campus on Monday night. It was great to meet another SOL in person for the first time in person. Then again, Josh and I bumped into each other again at the Welcome Desk coincidently and I had the privilege to help him rehearse his “Elevator pitch” before he does it in front of his whole audience. The rest of my week was good and has a great mentor class and even got requests from students for help regarding technical assistance with their E-Portfolio for INTRO1020. I had my first Mind-Body class with Professor Ann Witham, coincidently one of the two Professors in my mentor class. It was great to connect with her spiritually, mentally, and through positive energy outside of teaching and assisting students during Wednesday's classes. I got to have my close friends over and have a study group at my house with breakfast accommodation of my own. Just a little thank you for helping me study better because all of my “your best way to study” tests say I study best socially. I’ve set up appointments for next week to meet with Jill Trigg, so I can really understand what it's like to talk to her because I know plenty of student friends who feel as if they are in this alone. I wanted to lead by example and show them that there are people here for them. I also set up an appointment with the Writing and Study Skills Center to help me organize my time-management Excel spreadsheet more and give them some insight into my schedule of life, college, working, and being a friend and family member. In addition, most students feel as if this is the worst semester they have ever had and also the hardest one. I know I'm not the only student thinking this because I've heard it come straight out of new people I've met on Clifton campus say "I'm not learning anything, and neither are my friends and I'm really worried about this whole graduating class", which is understandable, we are all in this together I just tell them "yeah 2020 through us a curveball for sure". Oh, and Congratulations Chauncey!
